OSCAR WILDE ONCE SAID THAT A MAN WHO PERSISTENTLY REMAINS SINGLE IS A MAN WHO CONVERTS HIMSELF INTO A PERMANENT PUBLIC TEMPTATION. SUCH IS LIFE FOR GEORGE CLOONEY. WHILE ONE TIME MARRIED, GORGEOUS GEORGE HAS STAYED SINGLE AND DESIRED SINCE 1992, THE HEARTBEATS OF MANY WOMEN RACED EVERY TIME HE APPEARED AS THE LUSTY DOCTOR ON 'ER'. E! ONLINE'S EPISODE OF LOVE CHAIN, DEVOTED TO GEORGE CLOONEY AND HIS VERY LONG LIST OF LOVERS. HE'S GOT THE LOVE LIFE THAT CHALLENGES ALL WOMEN AND IS THE ENVY OF MANY MEN.

E! Online devoted an entire episode, on the hot, handsome George Clooney. Clooney can't help but exude an ocean of manly sexiness and women lust after him. It's hard to believe--but George Clooney is still single. At 42, he's the ultimate eligible bachelor. He comes from a show-biz family, he earns $20 million a movie, he owns a mansion in L.A. and an estate in Italy, he's best friends with Steven Soderbergh--and after lensing Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, he's becoming an auteur in his own right. Apparently, George is not so comfortable talking about his unwavering permanently unattachment to long term relationships. He'll discuss career, movies, politics, his apparent attachment to his pig; but, interviewing him about the ladies in his life is like pulling teeth. Still, Love Chain manages to get information. After all, that's their job! George states: 'I was married once, and I wasn't very good at it. I love kids, and I'm a good uncle. But I believe if you're going to be a parent, there has to be something in you that says, "I have to have children." You can't be half-assed about it. There isn't a voice in me going, "Hurry up and have kids." My friends have kids, and I get along with them great, so I've got them around all the time anyway.' He's a confirmed ladies' man and considers Renée Zellweger and Nicole Kidman among his closest friends, though he says neither are conquests. Instead, he usually dates outside the limelight. A lot. Of course, Clooney is well known for his way with the ladies, and he's had many high-profile relationships. After Talia Balsam, there were a couple of years, up until 1999, with Celine Balitran, a French model studying the law. Then came Charlize Theron and Kimberly Russell, from whom George split when marriage and kids were mentioned ("He told me flat out it was never going to happen again"). And there was British model and TV presenter Lisa Snowdon, with whom George had an on-off thing, continuing through 2005. In one of the Off periods, he saw Renee Zellweger. That he did not stay with her was proof positive of his inability to commit. There was also actress Krista Allen. Oh, and there WASN'T Julia Roberts, despite reports that Clooney had ruined her relationship with Benjamin Bratt. George Timothy Clooney was born on the 6th of May, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky. His mother, Nina, was a former state beauty queen, while his dad, Nick Clooney, was a TV newscaster, actor and talk-show host of great repute around the Cincinnati area. There's one sister, Ada. From the age of 5, young George would potter around his father's sets, joining in where possible, shouting out the temperature during the weather report, generally being charming (some things never change). Nick's audiences loved him. George's aunt, the famous singer Rosemary Clooney, thought he'd make a fine comedian. Once, when he was thirteen, he was at home trying on an Easter Bunny costume for one of his dad's shows. Suddenly, there was an awful rumbling - it was Augusta's first earthquake in 150 years. Poor George; in his cute suit and huge fake feet, he had to leave the building and stand, humiliated, among the neighbours. George attended Kentucky's Augusta High School, but was no academic. Indeed, his father would give him extra book reports as he didn't think the boy was reading enough. War books became a favourite. George was more sporty. Indeed, baseball was his life. A big star at Augusta High, he actually tried out for the Cincinnati Reds, but did not make the cut. He tried college, at Northern Kentucky University, but didn't like that. He tried following his father into broadcast journalism, but didn't really want to do that either. Then came revelation. George's uncle was the actor Jose Ferrer, and now he came to Kentucky, along with his actor sons Miguel and Rafael, to make a horse-racing movie called And They're Off. Miguel was a particular friend of George's and he got him a minor role. The film was never released, but something in George Clooney was. He'd not seriously considered acting before. Once he did, however, while he was considered to be one of the best 'unknowns', real fame didn't come his way until the hit television series, ER, making the 'doctor-on-tv'a household word. Since then, George Clooney's star has risen, and he's won Oscars and Emmys, he's directed and co-written movies. A well rounded man, George Clooney's love life flourishes as well as his career. Treat yourself to some of George Clooney's quotes: -- After doing One Fine Day and playing a pediatrician on ER, I'll never have kids. I'm going to have a vasectomy. -- America can't beat anyone anymore. -- Do you want the truth or the politically correct version? The truth is that I go plastic, it's so much easier. And I like to put the bags over my head at night when I sleep, which I think all the kids at home should try. Kidding!! -- I decided if I walk outside and get hit by a bus, everybody'll say, 'He crammed a load into 34 years.' -- I don't believe in happy endings, but I do believe in happy travels, because ultimately, you die at a very young age, or you live long enough to watch your friends die. It's a mean thing, life. -- I don't care. Charlton Heston is the head of the National Rifle Association. He deserves whatever anyone says about him. -- I don't like to share my personal life... it wouldn't be personal if I shared it. -- I grew up in the world of bad television, on my dad's sets and then as a young schmuck on dating shows and so on. -- I resolve not to drink liquids before donning the Bat-suit. -- I'd think,'In a relationship, we should never have his kind of fight.' Then, instead of figuring out how to make it work, I looked for a way to get out of it. The truth is, you shouldn't be married if your that kind of person. -- I'm a Method actor. I spent years training for the drinking and carousing I had to do in this film. -- I'm certainly the last person to give advice on, well, anything. -- I'm not smart enough and I don't know enough about what's going on. -- I'm only two years older than Brad Pitt, but I look a lot older, which used to greatly frustrate me. It doesn't anymore. I don't have to fit into that category and get trounced by Tom Cruise and Brad. -- I'm really white trash. -- I'm the flavor of the month. -- People thought I was Tom and Nicole's bodyguard. They'd come up and go, "Is it okay if I go up and ask for an autograph? It was good. I'd charge 'em three bucks a person. Yeah, you gotta make some money off of that." -- Run for office? No. I've slept with too many women, I've done too many drugs, and I've been to too many parties. -- The funniest thing is that all the things every director goes through, I thought I could shortcut, but there was no getting around those issues. -- The government itself is running exactly like the Sopranos and they sit back and they make deals. And they say okay, 'I'm going do this: France, you're getting the pipelines.' -- The only failure is not to try. -- There's no connection between al-Qaeda and Iraq. -- They say I was a bad Batman, that it was my fault, that I buried the franchise. But the truth is, it was a big project. I was pretty intimidated in that world. I did the best I could in the situation I was given. -- We moved away from what we were going after which was the al-Qaeda and there's no connection between al-Qaeda and Iraq, which we know, we spent a lot of time trying to prove it and it didn't happen. And we're going to go into a war and we're going to kill a lot of innocent people. -- We're picking on people we can beat. -- When you're young you believe it when people tell you how good you are. And that's the danger, you inhale. Everyone will tell you you're a genius, which you are not, and if you understand that, you win. -- You have only a short period of time in your life to make your mark, and I'm there now. -- You make a lot of films, do you? You make a lot of films yourself? Yeah, I'd like to see you make a film first before you get to talk about it. What a jerk.
